Angel Livas is a Gracie Award-Winning Executive Producer, a Multi-Media Personality, the President and CEO of DC Media Connection, LLC, Chief Executive Officer / CEO of Creative Introduction, LLC, and Founder of The Woman Behind The Business.
With nearly two-decades of media experience, Angel believes in sharing her wealth of multi-media expertise to help propel the success of others. In 2016, Angel was highlighted in the Washington Business Journal under “People On The Move” and named “Influential Business Woman of 2016” by AI Magazine. Prior to launching Creative Introduction, Angel oversaw six-nationally syndicated talk-radio shows, which included producing programming for award-winning celebrity hosts: Larry King & Jane Pauley.
Angel has continuously expanded audience reach, enhanced member engagement and increased brand recognition by crafting original content for web, radio, and social media. She launched her career in Washington, DC, as an intern at WHUR – 96.3 FM. She later transitioned into television, producing content for Bloomberg’s “Money & Politics” and NBC’s local Nightly News on WBAL-TV. Eventually, she returned to her radio roots, moved up the ranks, until ultimately overseeing the Radio Department at AARP for 10-years.
Angel has completed two certificate programs (Advanced Project Management, Stanford University; Mini-MBA: Social Media Marketing, Rutgers University) post receiving her Master’s degree at The American University, with an emphasis in Interactive Journalism. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. Angel is a proud lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
Currently serving in the role as Agency Director, Wiley was appointed by Virginia’s 72nd Governor Terence R. McAuliffe to lead the newly formed agency in August of 2014. The agency is the result of the merging of the former Department of Minority Business Enterprise (DMBE) and Department of Business Assistance (DBA). Wiley’s charged with the reorganization of the agency and elevating the Governor’s initiative to advance procurement opportunities and the utilization of Small, Women and Minority (SWaM) Owned Businesses in the Commonwealth during his administration. McAuliffe’s Executive Order 20, signed in July of 2014, established a 42% goal in procuring of the state contracts. Additionally, the executive order created a new micro business designation of which the agency has certified more than 5,300 companies and awarded over $357 million in contracts in FY16. Discretionary spending was approximately $5.5B-- in FY16 the Commonwealth spent 37% or 2.3B with SWaM businesses up from 32% in FY14.
Wiley’s role in the agency is to continue to energize state agencies, SWaM Champions, buyers, and procurement professionals to be more inclusive while competing existing and new contracts; and to broaden their supply chains with new certified suppliers. Her nearly 20 years of experience in minority business development and supplier diversity is an asset to state government and serves as a catalyst for a new platform in economic development.
Prior to the appointment, Tracey Wiley was serving as President of the newly merged Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council (CRMSDC) formerly the Maryland and DC Minority Supplier Development Council.
In 2013, she had completed the merger of the Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC); the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC) and the Maryland and District of Columbia Minority Supplier Development Council (MDMSDC), affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), a corporate member organization whose mission is advancing business opportunities for certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises. The newly formed Council is operating as the Carolinas Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (CVMSDC) covering Virginia and the Carolinas.
During her tenure leading the two affiliates, she served on the national Executive Committee for NMSDC and as Chair of the National Presidents’ Committee. Preceding her work in supplier diversity and minority business development, Wiley has served two Presidents of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) --- Virginia State University as Special Assistant and Senior Speechwriter to the President, Liaison to the Board of Visitors, and Lead Advisor on Media Relations during the Moore Administration. Early in her career, she worked as the News Bureau Director and Interim University Director for William Harvey at Hampton University. She is the former founder and business owner of Gordon-Tracye Advertising and Public Relations, LLC, a Virginia MBE.
Wiley has served the Commonwealth as an appointee on the Supplier Diversity Advisory Board and appointee on the Statewide Coalition for Black Businesses for two Virginia Governors.
Her role in the business community extends beyond her role as executive to positions in the business and civic community including former Board member and Executive Committee member of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce; Board member for the Executive Advisory Council for the School of Business at the University of Richmond; Board member and MS survivor for the Richmond Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; and Executive Committee and Member of the Richmond Public Relations Society of America.
She is a Richmond native who attended Richmond Public Schools and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Old Dominion University.
Fred has been trained extensively in digital forensics, malware and reverse engineering, incident response, and data recovery. I have also achieved numerous industry recognized certifications includingCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst(GCFA), Qualified/Forensic Expert (Q/FE), and Certified Data Recovery Expert (CDRE).
He is honored to have served in the United States Marine Corps.
In 2013 Gerald took a year off from his CPA practice to run for Congress in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, the seat currently held by Gerry Connolly. He lost to Suzanne Scholte at a nominating convention on 5/10/14. Gerald is very interested in improving our tax code to eliminate disincentives to be productive.
Gerald has turned his focus back to helping individuals and small businesses reduce what for most is their largest outlay, TAXES. He accomplishes this by year round tax planning.
Gerald is a resident of Fairfax, Virginia with his wife, Cindy they have two successful children who both graduated from James Madison University. They both have recently bought homes in Arlington, Virginia. Megan is a contracts assistant at General Dynamics in Falls Church, she married the love of her life another Gerald in September 2015.Ryan is a pricing analyst at for a company in Tyson’s Corner.
For ten years in a row Gerald went on a one week summer mission trip with one or both of his children, Appalachia Service Project sponsored by Arlington Temple United Methodist Church.
Basile has been helping people and businesses now for over 2 decades.
When he arrived on Northern VA, he felt that business event could be more “customer centered”. He then set out to created such events and that is how the “BL Ultimate Fairfax Networking Breakfast Events” and the “BL Ultimate NOVA business EXPO” were born.
To further assist the business Community (an anyone else for that matter), he has a book coming out soon: “The Secrets to Successful Networking”. He did not wait for the book to come out and started rigt away offering classes and putting on Networking Conferences so as to share this hard-won KNOW-HOW.
The overall goal is to create agreeable and comfortable quality spaces where business owners and other professionals can come, learn, practice and:
A) Achieve COMPETENCE,
B) BUILD quality relationships and
C) PROMOTE and GROW their businesses.
